Paul is a Postgraduate Research Student with Gerontology. He is interested in the use of digital devices by older people with dementia for social contact.

As a social worker and manager in Southampton and nearby, Paul worked with people of all ages. He worked, just before taking an occupational pension, in NHS and Local Authority joint agency information sharing, IT system specification, business process re-engineering, system configuration, implementation and change management.

Paul was elected as a Southampton City Councillor from 2012 to 2018. He was elected as a member of the Council of Governors of Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust and is a member of the Southampton Dementia Action Alliance, working with others on a project to make Bitterne Precinct Dementia-Friendly as part of the wider Dementia-Friendly Southampton Project.
