About

Dr Stephanie L. Blankshein is a prehistoric maritime archaeologist specialising in the computational analysis of archaeological and environmental datasets as well as the digital recording, processing and dissemination of sites and artefacts.

Stephanie is currently a Research Fellow in Archaeology working on the AHRC-funded 'Islands of Stone' project, focused on investigating Neolithic crannogs in Scotland. She has also been a Research Assistant for EduMUST, an EU-funded project focused on capacity-building in Egypt, and has had the opportunity to work on terrestrial and underwater projects in Spain, Bulgaria, Hungary, Scotland and England. 

Stephanie is also passionate about education and has taught on a range of undergraduate and post-graduate modules at the University of Southampton, focused primarily on scientific diving and archaeological field methods. Additional degrees/qualifications include an MSc in Maritime Archaeology and an MFA in Historic Preservation as well as HSE Scuba and BSAC Assistant Instructor scuba diving certifications.
