Dr Gabriele Lepori PhD

Dr. Gabriele Lepori is a Lecturer in Finance within the Business School at the University of Southampton. He holds a PhD in Economics from Michigan State University, USA.

Gabriele joined Southampton Business School in September 2019. Prior to joining SBS, he was an Assistant Professor of Finance at Copenhagen Business School, in Denmark, and later a Lecturer in Finance at Keele University, UK.

During his academic career, he has also taught as a guest lecturer at Uppsala University, in Sweden, and at the University of Nevada – Reno, in the United States.

Research interests

Dr. Lepori's research agenda focuses on behavioural asset pricing. In particular, he investigates how psychological and sociological forces affect decision making under risk and may sway the behaviour of individual investors and the dynamics of financial markets.

His research findings have been often discussed in the financial press and also on the radio, including The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, Investors Chronicle, and NPR Morning Edition.

Dr. Lepori is available to supervise PhD students interested in conducting lab experiments or analysing observational data in the field of Behavioural Finance.
