Conceptualising language in EMI: studies from international universities in Europe and Asia
The provision of English-Medium-Instruction (EMI) in non-Anglophone settings and the number of international students in Anglophone settings continue to rise at unprecedented levels. This leads to significant linguistic and educational issues for the universities involved. This day-long workshop will explore the role of language(s) in EMI through a series of invited talks and a round-table discussion, addressing conceptual considerations as well as studies from the UK, continental Europe and Asia.
