Teaching and learning methods
Teaching in this module is carried out by way of weekly lectures/workshops, with individual guidance and assistance being available to learners in the research and preparation of their work.
The module consists of lectures as outlined in the Lecture Programme.
The lectures provide a basic framework and background to the subject and need to be supplemented by reading from the core texts and further reading as recommended at lectures. There is particular emphasis on the effectiveness of oral work, the ability to engage in lively argument and the development of independent research.
Topics have been carefully chosen to promote discussion, through in-class debates, group exercises and the use of selected media, therefore, you are strongly recommended to prepare for class by completing background reading and research where indicated.
