Rosalyn Hyde is a Principal Teaching Fellow in secondary mathematics education with particular interests in initial teacher education and mathematics-specific pedagogy

Whilst studying for a mathematics degree at the University of Southampton Ros was very privileged to be taught by Professor Geoffrey Howson, Professor Brian Griffiths and Dr Keith Hirst, all of whom had a keen interest in teaching and learning in schools. Following a PGCE, again at Southampton, Ros worked in several local schools for a number of years holding posts of responsibility within the mathematics departments. During this time Ros was an active member of the Association of Teachers of Mathematics and also worked on a number of curriculum development projects.

Ros worked for The Mathematical Association as their Professional Development Officer for some time and has considerable experience in writing and training mathematics teachers. This has included curriculum development on a number of projects, including work for BECTa, the DCSF, the Secondary National Strategy, CfBT and the Association of Mathematics Education Tutors. Most recently Ros has been writing resources for Pearson and in particular was part of the author team for their new Key Stage 3 scheme Exploring Maths. Ros is an Associate for the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM).
