Dr Victoria Watson is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Audiology at the University of Southampton.

Victoria teaches on the undergraduate and postgraduate Audiology programmes at Southampton and is lead for the short ‘taster’ placements in Part 1 of the BSc Healthcare Science (Audiology). She is also the Employability officer for Audiology which involves co-ordinating the careers activities for both programmes.

Victoria is a registered Clinical Scientist in Audiology and worked in the NHS for 5 years before joining the University as a Teaching Fellow in 2005. In 2015 she completed a part- time PhD entitled ‘Exploring the experiences of teenagers with cochlear implants’.

Research interests

Victoria is interested in qualitative research in Audiology, particularly the experiences of teenagers with cochlear implants. She is currently exploring their experience of cochlear implant surgery and how this may impact on other aspects of their rehabilitation. She is also interested in the transition of Audiology students from University to clinical placement.
