Research project: The patient’s experience of post-operative voiding difficulty and short-term urinary catheterisation

This qualitative research study is investigating patients’ experiences of voiding difficulty and urinary catheterisation following routine hip or knee replacement surgery.

Qualitative interviews were undertaken with 32 patients, both men and women, following routine hip or knee replacement surgery. Analysis of the data is currently underway.

Unfunded study, based on original empirical research undertaken as part of a MSc by Mrs Allison Willis, supervised by Dr Jacqui Prieto.
