Monitoring of Engineered and Natural Systems Using Sensors (MENSUS)

Visit the MENSUS website - https://www.southampton.ac.uk/mensus

MENSUS is a new interdisciplinary strategic research group at the University of Southampton. This group draws on expertise from across the University to tackle challenges related to monitoring of equipment health and natural processes. Topics include:

  •  Sensing in harsh environments
  •  Wireless and optical communications for distributed and intelligent networks
  •  Challenges of signal processing and data handling
  •  Large-scale sensor deployment
  •  Green energy harvesting for remote sensing

We work with a broad range of industries, including the aerospace, energy, transport, healthcare, and construction sectors. New ideas are being generated, networks strengthened, research consortia formed and student courses enhanced. A key goal is that a strengthened academic community will provide a more valuable resource to industry.

The members of MENSUS invite industry collaborators to engage with the group. If you would like to visit, please contact Patricia Worby, Interdisciplinary Research Coordinator - p.worby@soton.ac.uk
