Physiology and Medicine
Our work in this area concentrates on modelling physical processes occurring in a biological setting. It includes the treatment of fluid-flows, elasticity, electrochemistry and magnetism. The work in this area potentially has very significant impacts ranging from improved techniques for drug delivery to a better understanding of the pathology of Alzheimer’s disease. Current areas of interest include: neuroscience, microscale biological fluid flows, magnetically targeted drug delivery, elimination of Ab protein via perivascular flow and its influence on Alzheimer’s disease, and genomics.
