About

Adam Procter made nodenogg.in an in-person real-time collaborative multiscreen web tool that increases participation in feedback and critiques. The app improves staff and student confidence, amplifies project outcomes and enhances a community of practice. Designed with privacy in mind, and simple and quick to use, nodenogg.in supports educational practice by using networked technologies to enhance social learning spaces.

Adam Procter is a Principal Teaching Fellow of Games and Interaction Design at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton. He is currently Head of Department of Art and Media Technology prior to this lead the BA (Hons) Games Design & Art programme for 12 years and has been working in Higher Education since 2001 and is seconded to the Department for Education 1 day a week

Adam’s research and practice focus on the creation and application of playful technology and games to stimulate thought, debate, and encourage thinking through making within "Communities of Practice". Adam develops playful digital tools designed to enhance critical practice and teamwork. These tools augment in-person, studio-based activities such as critiques, discussion groups, and ideation sessions, aiming to increase participation and engagement.

In his game-specific practice, Adam creates small satirical ecogames" that comment on the climate crisis and public infrastructure failings. Recently, he has been designing games specifically for the Playdate, utilising its unique crank interface and created a physical/digital model railway co-operative game that is played in train stations, Railbreak.
