Lakni’s research focuses on female entrepreneurs in Sweden. Delving particularly on the ways their gender influence their processes and their outcome inside innovation intermediaries.
Lakni’s research focuses on female entrepreneurs in Sweden. She is currently writing a qualitative research develop through a three papers thesis.
Despite Sweden has been acclaimed a beacon of hope for gender equality and environmental sustainability, she challenges the gender “inclusive” proposition in framing innovation intermediaries as gendered. Lakni's work aim to illustrate how the assumptions around innovation and innovators ultimately help maintain gendered roles in Sweden, halting real systemic change.
Before joining at the University of Southampton as a Postgraduate Researcher Lakni studied Psychology and gain a MSc in Cognitive and Clinical Neurosciences. She developed her interest in entrepreneurship and the gender gap in the innovation ecosystem while working in Sweden for a sustainable start-up, based in Stockholm.
