Dr Eloi Ribe is a Social Gerontologist with a disciplinary background in Sociology and Public Policy. He joined the University of Southampton in 2023, where he teaches on the MSc Gerontology and MSc Global Ageing & Policy (DL) programmes. Eloi is currently the MSc Dissertation Tutor of the Department of Gerontolog. His research interests are in two key areas: (i) how health inequalities are accumulated across the life-course, and (ii) how precarious working life careers affect health disparities of individuals. He has been funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the UKRI’s Policy Support Fund. He has authored and co-authored articles and reports on a variety of topics, including trajectories of multimorbidity, cross-national grandparental care arrangements, alternative forms of long-term care for dependent elderly people, and the effects of gender, lineage and re-partnering on intimate grandparent-grandchild relationships.
