I am a Lecturer in Film and Media Industries at the University of Southampton. My research, broadly speaking, examines the values, beliefs and practices of creatives producing Indian independent and art-house cinema in the era of global digital transformations. My research and teaching interests are film and media industries studies, their political-economic structures, creative labour and production cultures, as well as Indian cinema, film festival studies, and transnational/world cinema.
I have been awarded the prestigious Horizon Europe’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions COFUND Postdoc Fellowship, Alberta Graduate Excellence Scholarship and Erasmus Mundus Crossways in Cultural Narratives Scholarship. My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Transnational Screens, New Review of Film and Television Studies and NECSUS. I have presented and co-chaired panels at the Society for Cinema and Media Studies (SCMS), Network for European Cinema and Media Studies (NECS), and the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA).
