I genuinely seek to make the world a better place, especially for the people in Southampton and the surrounding areas, through inspiring as well as engaging our local communities (and councils) to work with the two universities and other arts, science and community champions (such as WeMakeSouthampton and the Southampton Collective), to foster more vibrant and people-oriented city neighbourhoods, that promote healthy and sustainable living. The universities, especially Southampton (given its diverse cultural offerings, as well as major student population), have a big part to play in this, and it is important that we create genuine impact together, and collectively with our communities, through our work, as well as in our social interactions.

Employment:

2012-present: University of Southampton, as the Lead Researcher for Southampton Sustainable City, the EU Metamorphosis (Horizon 2020) project and the monitoring and evaluation of the Solent Future Transport Zone programme. Major supporter (and a big fan!) of the University’s Public Engagement with Research unit (PERu) and the wider PE Network.

Also Final-year Projects Supervisor for undergraduate students in e-commerce, telecoms and internet engineering for BUPT/QMUL Joint Programme in Beijing, China, 2016 to present.

Previously, held various roles in the information technology/data science industry and for central government, including Global Head of Project Management, and the Information Services Director for a FTSE100 company.
