More Information

About the Instrumented vehicle facility

Our on-road instrumented vehicle can be used on its own for naturalistic studies of driving and driver behaviour. It can also be used in combination with other equipment for behavioural and cognitive driving research.

This includes:

  • head-mounted eye tracking equipment
  • galvanic skin response measurements
  • heart rate monitors
  • other physiological measurement devices

This research can be focussed on:

  • the driver
  • the physical environment they navigate
  • other road users they interact with

Technical specification

The Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid is equipped with:

  • a Racelogic Video VBOX Pro system that combines 32 CAN data input channels with four high-definition video feeds
  • two microphones
