Dr Katy Sindall is Lecturer in Criminology and Quantitative Methods within Sociology, Social Policy & Criminology at the University of Southampton.

Katy joined Economic, Social and Political Sciences in February 2011. She studied for her first degree in Sociology and Social Research at the University of Surrey, where she also completed an MSc Social Research Methods and a PhD in sociology, specialising in quantitative criminology (funded by the ESRC). She has previously worked as a researcher for both the Metropolitan Police and the Ministry of Justice.

Research interests

My interests are in public opinion research, particularly concerning perceptions of the police, crime and the criminal justice system, and the application of advanced quantitative methods to explore such substantive areas. I am a co-investigator of the National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM).
