2019 STAG prizes

The 2019 STAG prize winners are:

 

Best publication in gravitational physics  

Aaron Poole for his paper (A)dS4 in Bondi gauge

Runner-up prize: Stanislav Schmidt for his paper The 10d Uplift of the GPPZ Solution

 

Best publication in high-energy physics

Jack Foster for his paper Cluster adjacency properties of scattering amplitudes

Runner-up prize: George Katsianis for his paper Anomalous Supersymmetry

 

Best publication in astrophysics

Joint winners John Paice for his paper A black hole X-ray binary at∼100 Hz: multiwavelength timing of MAXIJ1820+070 with HiPERCAM and NICE 

and Marcella Wijngaarden for her paper Diffusive nuclear burning in cooling simulations and application to new temperature data of the Cassiopeia A neutron star

 

Public engagement

Lorenzo Zanisi for winning a Silver Award in the STEM for Britain poster competition. His poster was selected among over 500 entrants and the project was presented in the House of Commons. Lorenzo demonstrated that techniques used in Astronomy may also be useful in medical research.
