Progression, Determination and Classification of Results for Undergraduate and Integrated Masters ProgrammesExemption/Variation/Addition
2. Definitions specific to Undergraduate and Integrated Masters Programmes
2.2The University standard Average Mark for a Part for undergraduate students on each Part of a programme is 40. Where professional standards, including but not limited to PSRB requirements, require a Module Pass Mark that differs from the University standard this will be stated in the relevant programme regulations.

Variation

Candidates enrolled on these programmes must achieve an Average Mark for Part II of 60 or higher.  For MChem Chemistry this variation applies only to placement-bearing pathways.

3. Criteria for Progression
3.5A student who does not Pass has a right to Refer if eligible according to the Referral criteria laid out in paragraphs 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 and section 6 below.  A student not eligible to Refer has a right to Repeat as laid out in sections 5 and 6 below.

Exemption

Exemption in Part III to Clause 3.5 of Section 3 of the Progression, Determination and Classification of Results for Undergraduate and Integrated Masters Programmes. A student required to Refer at the end of Part III may not continue on an MChem Chemistry pathway with placement in Part IV, but must transfer to a non-placement pathway for Part IV.

These regulations should be read in conjunction with the programme specification.

Disclaimer

As a research-led University, we undertake a continuous review of our programmes to ensure quality enhancement and to manage our resources.
