Professor Bruce Hearnn is a Visiting Professor of Accounting & Finance at the University of Southampton, Southampton Business School.

Bruce Hearn is a Professor (Chair) in Accounting & Finance after having joined The University of Bradford School of Management in June 2020.  Prior to this, he held appointments at Universities of Southampton, Sussex, Leicester, Cass Business School (London) and Kings College London (University of London).  His three year PhD at Kings College London was supported by a full time ESRC studentship award.

He has held visiting professorships in leading universities in Finland, France, Armenia, Afghanistan and Switzerland, while having established executive education courses in India, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates (Dubai).  He also has extensive experience in the provision of distance learning programs and associated teaching and supervision in Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates, Ghana, St Lucia, St Kitts & Nevis, and Barbados.

Prior to academia, he has over twelve years professional work experience in the City of London between firms such as BNP Paribas Capital Markets, Gulf International Bank, Marshall Wace LLP, Royal Bank of Scotland, HSBC Investment Bank and Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank.  He worked at HSBC and Crédit Agricole during his last two years of full time doctoral studies.  He is also an external reviewer for large research grant applications at Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), UK and at American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
