Hosam is a Lecturer in Accounting taxation and financial management at the Southampton Business School, University of Southampton. Prior to joining the University, he was a Lecturer in Accounting at Aleppo University and W.S University, UK.  His research focuses on taxation, market valuation, corporate finance and accounting education. He has published several articles in these areas.

In addition to his academic background, he worked in accounting profession for two years. Hosam is a Higher Education Academy Teaching Fellow since 2015 and has received the Vice Chancellor's Award for Teaching in 2018 and the Dean Award for Teaching in 2016.
