About this course

We are 1 of only 2 World Allergy Organisation Centres of Excellence in the UK.

You'll develop your professional practice and improve your patient outcomes with this flexible postgraduate certificate in Allergy. We will ensure you can translate current best practice into improved patient care.

Our PGCert allergy course covers allergic disease in both paediatric and adult patients. This course is suitable if you're working in a hospital or community, as a doctor, nurse, dietitian, pharmacist or scientist. It’s our ambition that you leave this course as a leader in real-world allergy care, able to disseminate knowledge on to your teams.

The course is highly flexible, both in how you study and what you study. You can choose to study part-time over 2 years, or full-time for 1 year.

Our intensive, condensed modules allow you to attend in person in blocks of 3 to 4 days, with self-study between modules supported through our online learning environment.

You can choose to focus on:

  • allergic airways disease
  • skin and drug allergy
  • food allergy
  • designing your own learning experience in allergy to benefit your work needs

On-site teaching takes place at one of the UK’s leading teaching hospitals, Southampton General Hospital. The course lecturers are all actively involved in clinical practice or research.

Flexible study

If you prefer, you can apply to study this course as:

  • a full-time Certificate - study the same course content over 1 year
