Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:
- Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of different qualitative techniques, and understand when it is appropriate to apply them.
- Understand more advanced theoretical and methodological concepts in qualitative research and be able to recognise their relevance to your own research and that of others in the Social Sciences and in particular, within the field of Gerontology.
Syllabus
Advanced topics in the study of qualitative research methods. Indicative content may include data collection methods such as ethnography or focus group discussions, and analysis types such as discourse analysis or case study analysis. Advanced skills in NVivo software will be taught.

Delivery will be hybrid. Nine pre-recorded lectures and four in-person tutorials. Delivery starts from Week 4 of Semester 2.
