Research project: A study of chains of academies

This study looks at the effectiveness of this emerging form of school governance, from a perspective of educational effectiveness and franchise theories. This is the first ever study internationally of this form of school governance, and uses a mixed methods approach combining documentary evidence, interviews and quantitative analysis of school performance data. The research is being carried out by Professors Daniel Muijs, David Reynolds and Chris Chapman.
