What to expect at our undergraduate open days

Our undergraduate virtual open days are your chance to explore our University from wherever you are in the world. Here we’ll tell you what to expect on the day, what equipment you need, and what to do if you have a problem.

Undergraduate virtual open days

These events are open to everyone who’s interested in joining us on an undergraduate course. You’ll be able to:

  • meet staff from your subject area
  • find out more about your chosen course
  • get admissions advice
  • learn about employability and study abroad opportunities
  • discover how we'll support you
  • get information about visas and our international community
  • find out about student accommodation
  • learn about student life, our clubs and societies
  • talk to current students about their experience

The event is a mix of on-demand videos, talks, tours and live events where you can ask current staff and students your questions. When you complete the booking form we’ll send you full details of what’s on and when. Everything will continue to be available to you after the event.

When we aren’t running any live open days you’ll be able to sign up to receive our on-demand content.

What equipment and software you need

Our online open days are designed to work on desktop, mobile and tablet. Everything at the event is free.

We use Unibuddy and Microsoft Teams to run parts of the event.

The live student chats use Unibuddy. You'll need to create a Unibuddy login to join these events. You’ll be prompted to do this on the day, or you can visit our 'ask a student' page and hit the 'sign up' link to set up a Unibuddy account now

Our live Q and A subject sessions run on Microsoft Teams live events. You don’t need to have a Teams account to take part in these sessions. When you join the event there will be instructions, but you can also learn more about how to join a Teams live event.

How to change a booking

If you register but don't attend the event you've booked you'll still be able to access all the content afterwards, including recordings of the live sessions.

You can change your booking to a different day. Details of how to do this will be in an email from us, or you can contact us directly at

Because of COVID-19 we may need to change the dates, times, and overall circumstances of our undergraduate events. We will let you know if an event is cancelled.
