Teaching
Mark primarily teaches on the Medical Technology Innovation and Design (MTID) MSc programme within the School of Medicine. This innovative course centres on supervising multidisciplinary student teams as they develop prototype healthcare solutions. Mark’s specialist focus is on engineering and design, and he also delivers a series of lectures on the critical assessment of evidence.
In addition, Mark teaches within the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research on the Fundamentals of Auditory Implants module. He has supervised a wide range of research projects with Audiology BSc and MSc students, covering topics such as haptic stimulation to enhance hearing, auditory training, and high-frequency hearing.
Mark also supervises PhD students on projects involving haptic enhancement of hearing, haptic technology development, digital signal processing, and neural imaging (EEG).
