Dr Simone Holley PhD, MSc, BSc
Senior Research Fellow

Dr Simone Holley is a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Psychology and the Centre for Clinical and Community Applications of Health Psychology (CCCAHP). Simone is currently working with Professor Christina Liossi on PARAMOUNT - a study to understand the difficulties faced by carers and healthcare professionals when managing end-of life pain relief for children in outside hospital.
Simone has a number of years’ experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research in pediatric psychology.
Simone is a pediatiric psychologist and completed her PhD in children’s sleep and cognitive functioning at the University of Southampton in 2009, under the supervision of Professor Jim Stevenson and Dr Catherine Hill. She also completed an MSc in Research Methods at the University of Southampton and a BSc Psychology at the University of Essex
She has expertise in conducting neurocognitive and behavioural assessments and sleep studies with children, including those with epilepsy and cystic fibrosis. Simone has also worked on developing web-based tools to support emotional and behavioural well-being in secondary schools.
She has recently completed programme of research working with Professor Graham Roberts (Faculty of Medicine) to develop an intervention to improve self-management of asthma in teenagers. This included development of a novel patient report tool measuring self-efficacy to self-manage asthma in adolescents.
