Do a PhD with us

If you join us as a PhD student, you’ll be part of an inspiring and collaborative research environment that includes:

  • annual student-led conference events
  • away day team building activities
  • technical reading groups
  • seminar series with world-class experts presenting their latest research

You’ll have opportunities to take on research leadership roles within the group. These include the student and research staff committee, the AIC conference organising group and PhD representatives at group academic management meetings.

You’ll have opportunities to gain teaching experience and grow personal research networks through the MINDS Centre for Doctoral Training (MINDS CDT) and Trustworthy Autonomous Systems Hub Doctoral Training Network (TAS DTN).

Our PhD graduates secure positions in leading Artificial Intelligence and Data Science companies, become entrepreneurs, for example setting up Sentient Sports, and pursue successful academic careers.

Work with us

Our research team regularly wins new grants and advertises for post-doctoral research assistant (PDRA) positions. As a PDRA you will have career development opportunities to increase your professional network, gain teaching experience and develop your research independence. This includes support in applying for funding from Turing Post-Doctoral Enrichment Awards or internal grants.

We publish new PDRA opportunities on the university jobs page

Collaborate with us

Our research team regularly works with businesses and external partners through collaborative research projects, consultancy, and PhD sponsorship. If you are interested get in touch to chat with one of our team.
