Research project

Co-designing a novel game to engage underserved communities in having conversations about the challenges of living with long-term health conditions.

Project overview

Research has found board game formats can successfully engage groups who may not traditionally get involved in research to discuss their health, facilitating learning and connectedness (Gauthier et al., 2019). To date, these games have focused on one health condition despite many people dealing with multiple conditions at once. Additional board game style tools may help to explore how multiple long-term health conditions (MLTCs) can impact upon each other and identify meaningful solutions to the complex health, social and lifestyle challenges experienced. Therefore, we aim to co-create, develop and produce a board game with members of the community to encourage discussion about the challenges of living with MLTCs.

This project will work together with people who may not traditionally get involved in research to develop relationships and co-create a board game. This board game will aim to support conversations around the challenges of living with and addressing MLTCs .
