SHTAC has been awarded a contract as part of an international consortium to provide training in systematic review methods for experts in food and feed safety and risk assessment.

A grant from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) will enable SHTAC, as part of an international consortium of experts in evidence synthesis, to provide training in systematic review methods for EFSA's specialists in food and feed safety and risk assessment. The consortium, which includes other institutions in the UK, Denmark, the USA and Canada, will develop and implement a series of training sessions at EFSA's regional headquarters in Parma, Italy, during 2011 and 2012. This award broadens SHTAC's training activities outside the area of health research and reflects EFSA's commitment to ensuring that its scientific assessments are based on best practice in evidence synthesis.
