SHTAC contributing to a new project to develop an inventory of information sources for food and feed safety risk assessment

Published: 31 July 2012

SHTAC, as part of a project team led by York Health Economics Consortium, has received funding from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) to assist with developing an inventory of sources of scientific information to support EFSA’s risk assessment decisions in food and feed safety.

During 2012 and 2013 the project team will identify and characterise a large number of specialist and general databases of literature and other scientific information relevant to EFSA's diverse range of risk assessment topics and develop a standard classification system to enable the information to be readily searched. When completed, the inventory will inform systematic reviews commissioned by EFSA to support its scientific decisions.
