Dr Jill Colquitt BSc, PhD
Visiting Fellow

Jill became a Visiting Fellow in 2015 and is currently one of the founding partners of Effective Evidence, an independent consultancy service for the academic and public sector. The organisation specialises in evidence synthesis and critical appraisal, health technology assessment and meta-analysis, and maintains close links with SHTAC.
Jill worked for SHTAC from 2001-2015 where she led the production of a number of Technology Assessment Reports for NICE for both multiple technology appraisals (MTAs) and single technology appraisals (STAs), as well as evidence syntheses for the Cochrane Collaboration, the Methodology Research Programme and the NIHR HTA programme. Jill was also awarded funding as Principal Investigator by the NIHR HTA programme. The projects covered a diverse range of topics, from surgery for obesity to empirical methodological research. From 2001 to 2004 Jill also provided research support to the Expert Advisory Panels of the NIHR HTA Programme.
Jill helped develop SHTAC’s external ‘Introduction to Systematic Reviews’ course and was a regular contributor, sharing her extensive experience of systematic reviewing.
