Lois works as a Senior Research Assistant for SHTAC.

I love working on meaningful projects that can make a difference and improve people’s lives.

Lois joined SHTAC in 2019.  Her strengths are in conducting literature searches for a range of review types in healthcare, public health, and life sciences. She provides information science support to the SHTAC team, including designing search strategies for systematic reviews and appraising search strategies relating to technology assessment reports for NICE. In addition, Lois contributes to the team’s evidence synthesis research by participating in all aspects of the production of systematic reviews and critical appraisal of evidence submissions.

Lois has a postgraduate degree in Information Science and is an experienced librarian. Prior to her role at SHTAC, Lois spent four years as a librarian at Public Health England. She brings to the role her knowledge and experience of a wide range of healthcare resources and research support skills.

Lois is interested in the design of search filters and enjoys contributing to tasks in Cochrane Crowd.
