About the project
Chemistry impacts our lives everyday, from medicines, to materials and the environment. It is essential to develop new processes and strategies to solve some of most urgent and global problems of our time. We offer PhD opportunities in diverse research areas across organic and biological chemistry, towards tackling these issues.
The Organic and Biological Chemistry research group at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, develops projects in the broad area of organic and biological chemistry. We have a range of exciting opportunities spanning diverse areas and disciplines, including (but not limited to):
- organic synthesis
- catalysis
- supramolecular chemistry
- drug design/delivery and medicinal chemistry
- chemical biology
- photochemistry and responsive materials
- electro synthesis
- flow chemistry
These opportunities are ideal if you are committed to working in cross-disciplinary teams, have strong academic curiosity and research aptitude, and are passionate about contributing to a more sustainable future. Please contact the project leaders to discuss potential projects before applying.
The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering is committed to promoting equality, diversity inclusivity as demonstrated by our Athena SWAN award.
