Chemical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board

The purpose of the Chemical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board is to advise on and shape education, research and enterprise strategy of Chemical Engineering. 
The Chemical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board is responsible for: 

  1. Advising on curriculum development and professional relevance of undergraduate and postgraduate course provision (reviewed every two years).
  2. Supporting the Chemical Engineering with Institution Accreditation and update on potential changes that may impact the university. 
  3. Reporting on industry trends, pain points and emerging technologies that may be relevant to Chemical Engineering. 
  4. Encouraging and helping facilitate two-way exchanges of staff between Chemical Engineering and industrial collaborators. 
  5. Inspiring young people to enter the field of Chemical Engineering professions and enhance employability. 
  6. Promoting the value of student industrial placements through the teaching of appropriate skills and provision of opportunities. 
  7. Facilitating industrially relevant lectures from IAB members and other colleagues at their respective organisations. 
  8. Promoting engagement with IAB members to be involved in industrially linked project work at all levels. 
  9. Facilitating industrial mentoring of junior academic staff. 
  10. Achieving all of the above for the mutual benefit of the University, the Faculty and the panel members’ companies and the industries they represent.    

The Chemical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board comprises members from a selection of chemical engineering companies/local authorities, and key members of the University's staff.
