Keith McCormick is a Lecturer in Podiatry at the University of Southampton, Health Sciences.

Keith qualified from Edinburgh in 1997, and has worked primarily in diabetes care. Keith set up and managed a multidisciplinary diabetes foot ulcer clinic in South Glasgow before joining the University in 2006. Since his appointment he has been active in education internationally, including projects in Singapore and Sweden. His main research interests include peripheral microvascular and neurological function in the at-risk foot, neurological assessment, peripheral vascular disease and the clinical management of the foot in diabetes. Keith spent three years as a clinical research fellow in the Faculty of Medicine and most of his publications can be attributed to his work on a large randomised controlled trial as part of the Biomedical Research Centre award to Southampton in Nutrition, Diet and Lifestyle.

Keith has input into many of the undergraduate Podiatry modules and is also responsible for the Level 6 research methods modules (Podiatry and Physiotherapy). He also teaches diabetes across the school and is module lead for the Health Sciences post registration diabetes modules (Level 6 and 7). The level 7 module is also offered as an option for the new Diabetes Best Practice MSc in Medicine.

Keith is a reviewer for a number of peer reviewed Journals and is second supervisor for two Clinical Academic PhD Podiatry students and one MSc Nursing student. He currently holds two external examiner positions in the UK at BSc and MSc level and has served on the exams development group as an inaugural Fellow of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow since its inception in 2012.
