Ms Sydney Anstee BSc, Masters
Senior Researcher

Miss Sydney Anstee is a Senior Researcher within Health Sciences at the University of Southampton.
I bring a mix of frontline and academic experience to research, project management and implementation, with a varied background in the NHS, public health, primary and secondary research, local government, third sector and social care.
Although mainly focused on population, sexual and reproductive health I have worked in a broad spectrum of other health issues such as orthopaedics, new care models, intervention development and service evaluation.
Through several years of work with the National Institute for Health Research commissioning research in primary care, community health and disease prevention, I am skilled in critiquing existing evidence and identifying research priorities.
I am particularly enthusiastic for us all to maximise usefulness of research, to increase impact and for evidence to be taken up into practice, where appropriate.
Additionally, I have worked abroad for the Medical Research Council collecting birth data in Bolivia and helped to run mobile clinics in response to the Asian Tsunami in Sri Lanka.
