Dr Latha P Kadalayil PhD in Molecular Biophysics (IISc, Bangalore, India), MSc in Chemistry (BITS, Pilani, India) and Medical Statistics (LSHTM, London)
Senior Research Fellow, Biostatistician

Dr. Latha Kadalayil is a Senior Research Fellow Human Genetics and Genomic Medicine and Biostatistician in Allergy and Clinical Immunology within the Faculty of Medicine
Dr. Kadalayil is a Biostatistician with 15 years of experience in working with randomised clinical trial, observational and epidemiological data. She is also actively pursuing research on the genetic and epigenetic molecular mechanisms underlying complex human diseases such as cancer and asthma/allergy. In the past she was a lab-based scientist working in the areas of biomolecular structure, molecular mechanisms of gene regulation and signal transduction pathways of Drosophila innate immunity. One of the highlights of her past research career is her contributions to the identification and characterisation of a Drosophila transcription factor of the Rel family of transcription factors which paved the way for the characterisation of its human analogue, NF-kB.
