Research interests

  • The collection of annelids for bait by digging and dragging in the Southern IFCA District
  • The impact of bait collection on the marine environment and assessing effort levels in relation to achieving conservation objectives in marine protected areas
  • General fisheries and marine protected area policy and management

Marine Biology and Ecology

I work as an Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Officer (IFCO) for the Southern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (SIFCA). My role is both as an enforcement officer assisting in the enforcement of all relevant acts, orders, regulations and byelaws relating to inshore fisheries on land and sea, and as an environment officer conducting research into marine conservation, environmental effects and the socio-economic value of inshore fisheries.
