EACH-B - Engaging Adolescents in Changing Behaviour (researcher, funded by NIHR Programme Grants for Applied Research, 2018-2023)
EACH-B is a cluster randomised controlled trial evaluating the effectiveness of an intervention of three linked elements: i) professional development for teachers including training in communication skills to support health behaviour change; ii) the LifeLab educational module comprising in-school teaching of nine science lessons linked to the English National Curriculum and a practical day visit to the LifeLab facility; and iii) a personalised digital app that involves social support and game features to promote eating better and being more active.

Biography
Sarah is a Registered Nutritionist (Public Health) with an interest in food environments and adolescent health. Since graduating from her undergraduate degree (BSc Nutrition) from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, Sarah has been working as a senior research assistant at the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Centre at the University of Southampton. Sarah currently works on the Engaging Adolescents in Changing Behaviour (EACH-B study).
In 2018, Sarah registered as a part-time PhD student at the University of Southampton and aims to complete her studies in 2022/23. Her PhD project is entitled “Adolescents’ food purchasing and diet quality: the role of the social and physical food environments”.
