  • Reconstructing palaeoclimates/environments and complex biogeochemical interactions
  • Utilising a suite of lipid biomarkers, isotopes, and paylnology in geological and modern sediment samples
  • Investigating hydrological and associated terrestrial biogeochemical responses during past warm climates (e.g. Eocene) and hyperthermal events (e.g. PETM)

About

I am a PhD candidate at National Oceanography Centre, University of Southampton. My research utilises a suite of lipid biomarkers, isotopes, and palynology to study palaeoclimate/environments and complex biogeochemical cycles.

The main focus of my current work is on past high CO2 periods (e.g. Eocene) and transient warming events (e.g. PETM and other early Eocene hyperthermals). With increasing anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions, the geological record can provide a unique opportunity to further our understanding on how the hydrological and associated terrestrial biogeochemical cycles will respond to future warming.
