Current research
Dr Mohamed's current research focuses on regulating the dark side of the sharing economy, with the goal of steering digital platforms back toward their original promise of supporting environmental, economic, and social sustainability. His work examines how policy interventions can balance innovation provided by sharing economy platforms with fairness, accountability, and transparency. By addressing pressing governance challenges, his research supports policymakers in developing effective and socially responsible regulatory frameworks for the sharing economy.
Methodologically, he adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining systematic literature reviews, qualitative, and experimental designs. This enables him to address complex policy questions related to compliance behavior, institutional legitimacy, and platform accountability.
