Principal Enterprise Fellow

Cheryl is a Principal Enterprise Fellow within Health Sciences at the University of Southampton. She also holds a Faculty-level position as Associate Director of Enterprise & Knowledge Exchange Framework Champion and previously held a prestigious Research Council's (UK) Roberts' Fellowship in Life Sciences Interface. Cheryl is passionate about ensuring that research has true impact and meaning and is widely applicable. As such, she has experience, from her own research and through her Faculty role, of commercialising and translating research as widely as possible for the public good, and she does this at an international level in her research area of health technology and innovation, working with collaborators on innovation in Europe and South East Asia. She also has a lot of experience in public engagement; from giving talks and showcasing her work at science festivals, to creating exhibitions to help engage the public in University research across the world.
Cheryl is a Public Engagement Research Associate, and in this role, helps colleagues and students to develop ideas and skills needed to present their work to the public, and works with members of the public to ensure that their participation in research is meaningfully represented.
