We are a multi-sector collaboration of public and private organisations recognising that air quality challenges, and their solutions, are embedded in complicated ecosystems. They demand an integrated understanding of social, economic, cultural, health, environmental and policy components.
This “multi-agency” approach maximises the potential for realising the benefits of working together on the issue of air pollution. Working to reduce air pollution has many additional benefits for:
- carbon reduction
- improving health by increasing physical activity and mental wellbeing through active travel
- improving biodiversity by increasing natural infrastructure to capture pollutants
As a network, we can move further faster, to maximise the benefits of these shared aims.
Our aims
- provide an opportunity for diverse thematic and sectoral interest in clean air to meet, exchange knowledge and discuss mutually beneficial responses.
- identify key gaps in knowledge and formulate applied research responses.
- raise awareness of the key issues, trade-offs and responses surrounding clean air in the South.
