Clean Air South

Person with short hair smiling with eyes closed against a bright sky background.

We pool ideas, resources and expertise to step up to a health challenge that is costing lives and livelihoods across our region. Our focus is on evidence-based action and results. Our ambition is simple: to improve the quality of air we breathe across the Central South.

Clean Air South was created by the Sustainability and Resilience Institute, Wessex Health Partners and Local Authorities across Hampshire and the Solent. We unite a growing consortium of academics, health leaders, local government, environmentalists, business and industry. The University has a strategic commitment to being a civic university and having a purposeful, positive impact on the region. Working with the research-led Sustainability and Resilience Institute, Clean Air South is a major civic initiative for the University.
