I am interested in how our identity and dispositions drive us to conceive of risks in different ways, and why such variations in humankind evolved in the first place. The internet (including social media) is an amazing space with which to explore these questions, and learn more about who we are, what we want, and why we behave the ways we do.

Student Biography: I am a behavioural scientist specialising in the theory and practice of social influence and behaviour change. I have worked for the Metropolitan Police, the Defence Science and Technology Laboratories (Dstl) and the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). I was previously educated at the universities of Essex and Oxford, and am currently completing a PhD in user vulnerabilities to social engineering (social influence) on social network sites at the University of Southampton.  My book, 'Influencers: The Story of Behaviour Change from Apes to Artificial Intelligence' will be published by William Collins in 2021.

Supervisors: Dr Tiejun Ma, Professor Vladimiro Sassone
