Representatives of the UK’s Ministry of Defence’s (MoD) Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) visited the Centre for Risk Research (CRR) on 28th February 2014 to discuss joint research projects in the areas of CBR (Chemical, Biological and Radiological), Resilience, and Cyber-security.

DSTL staff and CRR members

The meeting was very productive and a number of potential research projects were identified. During the meeting, CRR members also explored how DSTL's methodology could be designed to enhance the elicitation and combination of experts' opinions related to the uncertainty of project outcomes.

The University of Southampton is one of DSTL's partner Universities in the UK; the aim being to shape academic research related to MoD priorities. During the meeting, the attendees also explored how resources could be channelled through the partner relationship with the CRR to develop the projects identified during the meeting.
