Published: 12 May 2014

Professor Johnnie Johnson was recently awarded the Teaching and Learning Lifetime Achievement Award for the Faculty of Business and Law, for his teaching of risk taking and decision making modules.

Professor Johnson, who is well-known for his enthusiastic and engaging teaching style, recevied the award at the annual Excellence in Teaching Awards (ETA's) event which is hosted by the Students Union at the University of Southampton.

At the award ceremony, which was held on 8th May, Johnnie said: "It is an honour to receive this award which has been voted for by my students. I have learned so much from them over the years and it is their lively and enthusiastic responses in my lectures which make this job so worthwhile".

The ETA's are completely student led and give the university's students the opportunity to recognise the support of the staff that teach them and show how teaching has had a real impact on their academic experience.

This year the ETA's received over 500 nominations for staff that have really made a difference by using innovative and practical teaching methods to help students reach their potential.
