Masters programmes

Our MSc programmes in risk will introduce you to new concepts and knowledge, and help you to gain a deeper understanding of risk. Both programmes feature a wide range of risk-related modules taught by the Centre's research-active members, most of whom are currently involved in projects that help external organisations to better identify, analyse and manage risks.

MSc in Risk Management

This degree is one of a few UK masters courses to cover risk management theory and practice within a broad framework and across a range of sectors. It gives you the freedom to explore your own interests through optional modules in areas such as finance, quantitative methods or corporate security.

You will be taught by academics at the forefront of risk management research, including world-leading experts in risk analysis, project risk management and decision making in uncertain environments. MSc Risk & Finance

In an increasingly complex financial world, there is growing demand for graduates with critical risk management skills as well as a thorough grounding in finance. Taught by leading researchers in risk taking, decision making and finance, this MSc programme will prepare you for a broad range of career paths.

You could choose to use your skills in the financial sector, for example as a stockbroker, investment banker, financial analyst, risk manager or fund manager, or work for an insurance company. The course includes specialist optional modules, such as insurance and credit scoring that are rarely found on degrees of this type, so you can choose to develop your skills in a way that best helps you to progress in this growing sector. Credit Awards

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) have awarded credits for students holding the MSc Risk Management.
