The Wessex Institute, part of the Faculty of Medicine, is seeking a new Director to lead the Southampton Health Technology Assessments Centre (SHTAC).

For over 15 years, SHTAC has been delivering evidence synthesis to address the needs of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) appraisal committees; and also using these skills to address wider health services and public health evidence needs. The unit has just been successful in re-bidding for its core contract with the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) to produce technology assessment reports for NICE, which will run until 2021.

A new director is sought to manage SHTAC’s interdisciplinary team of staff. The post holder will be responsible for continuing to build this unit, both maintaining its relationship with NICE and developing other research programmes and income streams.

The closing date for applications is 1st March 2015. For more information on this post and details on how to apply please see the University of Southampton recruitment pages.
